AGORA — Sports & Games Rules & Regulations

General Rules & Instructions

  1. The Sports and Games events will be held on 10th, 11th & 12th January 2026 at Physical Education College, East Hill, Kozhikode.
  2. Team Managers of each district shall keep in close contact on a frequent basis with the Sports & Games Committee for updates regarding conduct of events and participation.
  3. Team Managers have to send the names of participants in various events to the Convener, Sports & Games Committee on or before 31.12.2025 to enable timely preparation of fixtures.
  4. Game events will commence at 11.00 am on 10th January.
  5. Participants in all events shall be those officially enlisted in the district team. Individuals not enlisted in the District Team shall not be permitted to participate in any event.
  6. For events such as Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Ball Badminton (Fives) and Relay, each district may field only one team. There shall be a minimum of 2 teams from different districts for conduct of the event.
  7. Two teams representing a district can participate in the following Events:
    • Table Tennis – Singles & Doubles
    • Ball Badminton – Doubles
    • Shuttle Badminton – Singles & Doubles
    • Caroms – Singles & Doubles
    • Chess
    • Tennis – Singles & Doubles
  8. There shall be no entry fee for participation in games and athletics events.
  9. For deciding Overall Champions, following point system will be followed:

  1. No points will be awarded for Sports & Games events conducted for family members.
  2. Overall Championship will be awarded to the district securing highest total points in Sports & Games events.
  3. A Championship Award will also be presented to the district securing maximum points for track and field events, and Games events.
  4. Each competitor will be permitted to participate in a maximum of FIVE individual items in athletics.
  5. Individual Championship in Sports events will be awarded to both Men and Women participants who secure the maximum individual points.
  6. In the event that the final of any game cannot be conducted due to unavoidable circumstances, the winner will be decided by drawing lots in general cases. However, the Committee reserves the right to decide how to proceed.
  7. March Past will commence at 8.30 am on 11th January 2026 and all participants are expected to take part wearing their respective uniforms of district. Prizes will be given for best performance and best turnout. All teams shall report at least half an hour before commencement.
  8. Individual items of Track & Field events with at least 3 entries (for both men and women) only will be conducted.
  9. Duly filled up entry forms shall be forwarded by District Secretaries to Convenor, Sports Committee on or before 31-12-2025.
  10. A Jury of appeal has been constituted to decide on disputes related to conduct of Sports & Games events. Complaints or appeals shall be lodged by the Team Manager within 15 minutes after finish of the particular event. Decision of the Jury will be final.
  11. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reschedule or cancel any match or item of sports, schedule of which has been announced.

Rules for Games Events

5VolleyballOne game of 25 points upto semifinal. Final best of 3 games of 25 points (without rotation).

CULTURAL EVENTS – RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. The cultural competitions in connection with AGORA’25 will be held on 10th and 11th January, 2026 at Physical Education College, East Hill, Kozhikode. The details regarding conduct of the events will be displayed at the venue.
  2. The competitions will start at 10.00 am on 10th January, 2026.
  3. Engineers and family members who wish to take part in the arts and cultural competitions shall forward Entry Forms in the prescribed format (In Excel format), duly filled. It shall be forwarded through the concerned district authority to the Convenor, Cultural Committee in the email ID: agora25cultural@gmail.com
  4. Entry Forms will be received by the Cultural Committee only through the above email ID. The Entry Form format is appended.
  5. Entry Forms shall be forwarded through concerned District authority only. It shall be forwarded as an attachment in the email. The name, designation, address and contact number of the person forwarding the Entry Form shall be noted in the body of the email.
  6. Entries will be received up to 5 pm on 20th December 2025. Spot registration will not be allowed. There is no registration fee.
  7. Proof of age shall be submitted in case of any dispute for categories: A (Below 5 Boys & Girls), B (5 to 12 Boys & Girls), C (12 to 18 Boys), D (12 to 18 Girls). The age as on 01-01-2026 will be the criteria to decide the category.
  8. The list of events and time allotted is appended. Competitions will be held only if there are three or more entries.
  9. If a participant is willing to participate in an event and if the event is not available for that age category, she/he can participate in the next higher category available.
  10. Merit certificates will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in each event if there are three or more participants.
  11. If the number of participants actually taking part in an event is less than three even after receiving more than three entries, a consolation prize will be awarded.
  12. Points for group items: 10, 6 and 2 for first, second and third. Points for individual items: 5, 3 and 1. No points for consolation prizes.
  13. Maximum number of participants in a group item shall be 10 except for:
    • Quiz – 2
    • Anthakshari – 4
    • Duet – 2
    Minimum number of participants for all other group events shall be 5.
  14. (a) Participants in Film song and Duet events can sing with Karaoke. Karaoke is not allowed for other events. Sruthi box is permitted for Group Song and Light Music.
  15. (b) Only Malayalam songs are allowed for Film song and Duet events.
  16. (c) Electronic gadgets are strictly restricted for participants inside the hall for off-stage events.
  17. A District can field only two entries for individual & duet items and one team in group events in stage items.
  18. An individual can participate in a maximum of five individual items only.
  19. The decision of Judges in all events shall be final.
  20. Participants should report to the Convenor, Cultural committee / stage managers well before the commencement of competition and obtain chest numbers.
  21. Participants shall bring costumes required for their respective items. They may utilise the services of the makeup man arranged by the Organising Committee on payment.
  22. For Pencil drawing and painting, only the drawing paper will be issued by the Organizing Committee. Other materials shall be brought by the competitor.
  23. For essay writing, story writing and versification, paper will be supplied by the Organising Committee.
  24. The overall championship trophy for cultural events will be awarded to the District securing maximum points in cultural competitions.
  25. In case of any dispute, decision of the Jury of Appeal will be final.
  26. For KALA KUDUMBAM Trophy, points secured in individual items only will be considered. At least one point must be secured by an engineer parent. In case of tie, points from group items will be considered as tie breaker.
  27. For SUVARNA KUDUMBAM Trophy, points secured in individual items (sports, games and cultural events) shall be considered. At least one point must be secured by an engineer parent.
